NEED A COUPON FOR LEGOLAND DISCOVERY CENTER ATLANTA?
The kids had a blast! Seriously, it was like a theme park. So much fun had by all. They were crying at the end of the day when I said it was time to go! Like a flashback, it came back to Zombiemommy in her Florida childhood those times when were leaving the docks of the Magic Kingdom and in the darkness under the blaring fluorescents those kids were pitching fits because it was time to go home…Totally made sense to me now.
First off because we were a larger group we got a special presentation by a Lego Team Leader. We divided into groups and every table put together a vehicle to be tested in a race.
They had 2 real rides. A pedaling ride (Merlin’s Apprentice) that was like an amusement park ride that went up and down as high as you could pedal (or not if you were afraid). Luckily, we had gone early on a Monday so it wasn’t so busy that the kids couldn’t ride it over and over again! The other big ride was “Save The Princess”, you were in a car and armed with a laser gun which you could shoot at targets. It was like an old school fairway game meets “It’s A Small World”.
The other cool feature was the 4-D movies. There were 3 or 4 different choice that ran every 15 minutes. We caught every one!
For the younger folks there is a Soft Play Area (not open to adults). Which is like an exaggerated indoor’s kids park. My toddler loved that one!
For the girls, there is a girl Lego area, which has a Karaoke microphone setup. It was cute and of course the girls were drawn to it.
Oh yeah, Legos.
There were buckets of Lego in the center of the park with ramps to test your vehicles.
The kids seriously had a blast and I was shocked by how busy you could stay here. My friends killed the entire day to get the value for their dollar! From opening to close. They had Sinatra playing to kick them out (kidding).
The price is a bit steep considering its size but I found that you can really enjoy yourself if you can stay for a while.
